THEATRE

It all started with tiny tap shoes destroying my parents’ coffee tables. I have been performing all my life. I began my career as a director at 14 and have been lucky to spend most of my professional career in the theatre. I’ve taught theatre since 2018. Some of my credits include Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Cinderella in Into the Woods Fraulein Kost in Cabaret, and Eliza Dolittle in My Fair Lady.

TEACHING

In 2018, I started my position as “Theatre Arts Facilitator” at my alma mater, The Community School, in Spokane, WA. I had interned for theatre camps through high school, but this was my first professional position. I directed at least two productions a year and taught two to four theatre-based classes every six weeks. The same year, I began teaching after-school theatre programs through the Spokane Civic Theatre Academy where I also served as the Administrative Assistant. I continue teaching these classes to this day and enjoy working with young performers of all ages.

FILM

The pandemic made working as a theatre educator feel impossible. Determined to give my students a story to tell, my teaching partner, Sydni Morin, and I turned the school cafeteria into a sound stage. Between the two of us, we had little to no experience in filmmaking. However, We managed to a movie adaptation of You Can’t Take It With You that was so bad it was nearly good. The experince sparked an interest film which led me to study Digital Filmmaking, focused on Screenwriting, Directing , and Producing at Spokane Falls Community College.

Storytelling drives everything I do. I am comfortable taking on leadership when necessary, but I'm also happy to follow the lead of others who may be a better fit to lead. I do everything I can to make every show I am part of the best it can be.
